Since 1940 · Port Said

Eighty-six years on the Port Said waterfront

Charly Brown was established in 1940 as a ship chandler serving vessels calling at Port Said and transiting the Suez Canal. The company still works from Port Said and has grown to supply industrial factories and petroleum companies as well as ships.

The way we work has stayed the same. A master or a procurement manager deals with someone who knows the vessel, quotes clearly, and is on the quay when the goods go aboard.

  1. Requisition. Send the vessel name, ETA, port and list by email or WhatsApp.
  2. Quotation. We reply with itemised prices, or a proforma disbursement for agency work.
  3. Preparation. Goods are checked against spec, packed and cleared.
  4. Delivery. Delivered alongside and signed for, with documents for your records.

In memoryBilly Brown

In memory of Hany Fahim Armanious (Billy Brown)

The man behind our legacy

At Charly Brown Maritime Services, our story is one of passion, vision, and the incredible humanity of a man who transformed a simple dream into a lasting legacy.

It began with the modest founding of the company by Billy’s father, who originally served as a ship vendor, supplying vessels with authentic Egyptian souvenirs – from traditional handicrafts to pharaonic artworks – introducing a taste of Egypt’s rich culture.

Building on this modest beginning, Hany Fahim Armanious, lovingly known as Billy Brown, reimagined the company’s future. He expanded the business beyond souvenir trading and pioneered professional ship services, including high-standard ship cleaning (fuel tanks, freshwater tanks, engine rooms and cargo holds) – a service we proudly remain the sole provider of across Egypt to this day.

Today, we honor his spirit by keeping alive the values he held dear – friendship, trust, service excellence – and by ensuring that the name Billy Brown continues to sail proudly in every voyage we embark on.
